He was preceded in death by his wife: Imogene Cobb Smith; parents, William and Cora Smith, and 8 brothers, and sisters.
He is survived by five children; two brothers, one sister and several grandchildren. Also many friends.
He proudly served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the Korean War and was retired from the U.S. Park Service. He gave the gift of music to a multitude of people. He inspired and taught a number of young guitar pickers that we all enjoy today including his own two sons.
