Edward F. Adams, 86, of Shoemakersville, died Tuesday, October 3, 2017 in his son's residence. He was the husband of the late Cassandra J. (Leibensperger) Adams, died April 19, 2017.
Born in Leesport, he was the son of the late Raymond and Viola (Bitterman) Adams. He was a United States Air Force Veteran. He worked as a steelworker at Carpenter Technology, Reading for 38 years. Eddie had an amazing sense of adventure and truly loved to spend his time outdoors hiking, fishing, camping, boating, biking, and lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Whether it was backpacking the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, or Yosemite, riding his bike around the country or traveling the world, a day outdoors with his family and friends was always a great day.
Eddie is survived by two sons: Mark E. Adams, husband of Kathleen (Welsh) Adams, Douglassville, and Matthew E. Adams, husband of Wendy (Orth) Adams, Lower Heidelberg Twp.; and three grandchildren: Griffin, Carter, and Paige Adams. He was predeceased by a brother: Edmond Adams.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street Hamburg (off-street parking in rear). A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to: RailstoTrails.org or Salem United Methodist Church 605 Main Street Shoemakersville, PA 19555.
