Willie Irene Swinney, 90, of Carrollton, Ky., died Thursday, April 26, 2007, at New Horizon's Assisted Living Center in Carrollton, Ky.
She was born April 25, 1917, in Punta Gorda, Fla., to John T. Swinney and Irene Trippe Swinney and attended Hanover College, graduated from Morehead State Teacher's College in 1941 and was a former teacher in the Oldham County, Ky., school system. She was a retried bookkeeper for Eskew & Greshem CPA's in Louisville, Ky.
She is survived by a nephew, Regie Zapp of Carrollton, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Julia Evelyn Zapp.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. today at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Carrollton, Ky. Interment will be at the cemetery.

Ms. Swinney was born April 25, 1917, in Punta Gorda, Charlotte County, Fla., the daughter of the late John T. and Irene (Trippe) Swinney.
She attended Hanover College in Hanover, Ind. She graduated from Morehead State Teacher's College in 1941.
She was a former teacher in the Oldham County, Ky., school system.
She was a retired bookkeeper for Eskew & Greshem, certified public accountants, in Louisville, Ky.
She is survived by a nephew, Regie Zapp, of Carrollton.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Julia Evelyn Zapp, who died in March 2007.
Pallbearers were Zack Spencer, Kevin and Ed Hill, Laman Stark, Brandon Cull and John Way.
