Milton Willet Vail Jr. CROWLEY - Funeral services for Milton Willet Vail Jr., 73, of Crowley will be held on Sunday, October 21,2012 at 1 p.m. in Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley. The Reverend Berl Adams will officiate. Interment will follow in Abshire Cemetery, Kaplan. Visitation was held on Saturday, October 20, 2012 from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. in Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley, with a rosary being recited at 6 p.m. Visitation will continue on Sunday from 8 a.m. until service time in the funeral home. Mr. Vail passed away on Thursday, October 18,2012 at 5:36 p.m. in a Lafayette hospital. A native of Crowley, Mr. Vail served his country faithfully and honorably in the U.S. Army. He was a Vietnam veteran, where he was awarded a Purple Heart for wounds received, and a Bronze Star Medal with two Oak Clusters for valor. He was also awarded several other medals and citations during his 20-plus years of military service. After leaving the Army, Mr. Vail worked in the oilfield construction business until his retirement. Survivors include his daughters, Alice Vail Breaux and husband, Billy, of Crowley, Vicky Ann Vail Ohlenforst and husband, Dwayne, of Roberts Cove and Sara Vail Guilbeau and husband, James, of Atlanta, Ga.; son, Gary Vail of Mire, sisters, Marie Vail Reid and husband, Walter, of Charleston, S.C. and Sylvia Vail Lamm of Crowley; brother, Donald Horace Vail and wife, Linda, of Crowley; grandchildren, Jenna Faye Vail Leger, Daphne Marie Vail, Colleen Vail Abshire, Aaron Dean Vail, Gary William Breaux and Dustin Breaux; and great grandchildren, Cade Emerson Abshire, Kajen Michel Leger, Mallory Brown, Macey Brown, William Breaux and Alex Breaux. Preceding Mr. Vail in death were his wife, Earline Vail; son, Milton W. Vail III; mother, Cora Amy Duhon Mayer; father, Milton W. Vail Sr.; and sister, Betty Vail McDathe. Serving as pallbearers are grandchildren, Aaron Dean Vail, Gary William Breaux, Dustin Breaux and Jenna Faye Vail Leger, great grandson, Cade Emerson Abshire, and great nephew, Aaron William Vail.
