Kay L. (Strauss) Bauer

Two Rivers - Kay L. (Strauss) Bauer, age 60, a Two Rivers resident, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Kay was born on January 29, 1958 daughter of the late LeRoy and Mildred (Krish) Strauss. She attended Holy Innocents Catholic School and graduated from Roncalli High School in 1976. She furthered her education at Silver Lake College and Lakeland College earning a degree in social work. Kay worked at the Manitowoc Health Care Center for five years before her marriage to Tim. Kay moved with Tim to Alexandria, VA in 1985, where she began working at KinderCare Learning Center. Upon moving back to Manitowoc, she continued working part time as a preschool teacher at Two Rivers Catholic Central School, then as an instructional aide at Two Rivers Public School System and then as a substitute teacher to have the flexibility to spend more time with her granddaughters.

Kay's pride and joy was being both a mother and grandmother. She supported her children's hopes and dreams, especially her son's lifelong dream of working for The Walt Disney Company. Kay enjoyed her special mother-daughter time with Elizabeth, especially all their shopping trips and doing so much together. She loved being a grandmother to her precious Abigail and Audrey who were her entire world. Kay also enjoyed many family vacations to Walt Disney World in Florida and enjoyed spending summers at her camper at Harbour Village Resort in Door County, Wisconsin.
