July 15, 1920 -- Oct. 27, 1996 Lawrence Bentley , 76, of Coulterville died Sunday at his home. Mr. Bentley was a native of Burneyville, Okla. He had lived in Coulterville for 17 years. He was a truck driver and worked for B.B.D. Transportation of Los Angeles. He was a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans. He served in the Army during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Marie Bentley of Coulterville; children, Shirley Web of Modesto, Beverly Bentley , Larry Ridlon and Jay Bentley , all of Ceres, Margie Machado of Hughson, Lawrence Bentley of Sonora, Barbara Lomonaco and Jimmy Bentley , both of Visalia, Ray Ridlon of Jamul and Cea Bentley -Cox of Texas; brothers, Kenneth Bentley and Bill Bentley , of Modesto, Jim Bentley of Ceres; sisters, Mary Holden of Fresno, Betty Pickerul of Ontario, and Ruth Bradbury of Altaloma; and 25 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the Colonial Chapel of Franklin & Downs, Modesto.
