Abe Joseph Clark, 87, of Charleston, retired refrigeration mechanic with Charleston Naval Shipyard, died Thursday in a local hospital. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Stuhr's Downtown Chapel. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Clark was born in Moncks Corner, a son of George B. Clark and Elizabeth McDonald Clark. He attended Pinecrest Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Pearl Walling Clark; four sons, Abe J. Clark Jr. of Charleston, Harold H. Clark of Yonges Island, Thomas L. Clark of Teachey, N.C., and Alvin R. Clark of Santa Fe, N.M.; a sister, Lurline C. Simmons of Walterboro; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
