It is with great sadness that the family of Everette Eugene Wright announces his passing on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at the age of 94 years. A native of Ackworth, Iowa, Gene lived in the San Gabriel Valley towns of El Monte, West Covina and La Verne. He graduated from Puente High School and enlisted in the US Army in 1943. He saw action in Germany where he was wounded in the Rhineland campaign. After the war, he returned to work with the LA County Fire Department as an engineer. In 1976, he retired from the fire service and worked for the Bonita Unified School District. He enjoyed baseball, bowling and singing with the Barbershop Harmony Society. Gene was a member of the Nazarene Church. Gene will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 19 years, Norma, his children Donna Searcy and Carolyn Dabbs.

Gene was predeceased by his first wife, Joy (Collins) Wright.
