Daniel “Danny” Pieffer, 40, of Petoskey, died August 12, 2018 at the Villa at the Bay.

Danny was born on October 9, 1977, in Somerville, New Jersey, the son of Dan Pieffer and Claudeen Fitzcharles. He grew up and attended school in Port Charlotte, Florida.

On October 20, 2010, he married Keri Frye.

Danny was an extremely hard worker. He was employed by Lanzen as a machinist for six years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and chopping wood almost daily. He was a great man, a caring father, and loving husband. His family will remember him for his big heart, his willingness to help those in need, and his personal motto “I will persist until I succeed”.

Danny is survived by his wife Keri; his children, Brandon, Daniele and Grace Pieffer; his father, Dan (Shawn) Pieffer; mother, Claudeen (Michael) Fitzcharles; siblings, Megan Pieffer, Haley (Gregg) Nuzum, Cheyenne Pieffer, Cody Pieffer, and Skye Pieffer; step siblings, Chris Fitzcharles and Joslyn Frank; Aunt Terry (Frank) Burnett; Grandma Jeanne Pieffer; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service at Stone Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. David Behling will officiate the service.

The family is also planning a memorial service in Florida at a later date.
