Richard Burton Allen, 51, of Milledgeville, Ga., died Saturday (July 30) at the home of his beloved caregivers and friends after a long battle with cancer. Richard was born Jan. 20, 1943, in Willimantic. He was a former Savannah, Ga., resident, where he owned and operated Richard's Tree Service. Richard was a U.S. Navy veteran. [Survivors edited for privacy.] The funeral service will be Wednesday, 2 p.m., at the First Congregational Church, Main Street, Coventry, with the Rev. Dr. Bruce Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Nathan Hale Cemetery, Coventry, with full military honors.
