Manitowoc - John R. Singer, age 83, went to his eternal rest on Wednesday, August 8, 2018. John was born September 7, 1934, the son of the late Clarence and Lillian Thornton Singer. He was a lifelong resident of Manitowoc, most recently at the Felician Village.

After attending St. Andrew's grade school, John graduated from Lincoln High School class of 1952. He married the former Nona Mae Miller on March, 20, 1954.

John served with the U.S. Army Reserve. He started his work career as a tool and die maker at Mirro Aluminum. He became a salesman for Mirro and later started his own business as a manufacturer's rep.

He and Nona loved to travel. From ski trips to excursions around the world, they had fun! He enjoyed Packer, Badger and Brewer games, golf with his buddies and stopping "for one" at The Cardinal.

John was a member of Branch River Country Club, the Manitowoc Yacht Club and a founding member of the Cliff Hanger Ski Club. He was a past board member of Holiday House.

John is survived by his wife: Nona; two sons: David (Joy) Singer, Manitowoc, and Steven (Jean) Singer, New Richmond, WI; grandchildren: Amanda (Joe) LeBlanc, Natalie Singer, Sarah Wood and Matt (Robyn) Wood; great grandchildren: Kensington LeBlanc, Riley, Cooper and Adelaide Wood.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Clarence and Lillian; and a son: Michael.

John was a great story teller, even up to his final days, entertaining the staff at the Villas.

A private family service was held, after cremation, as was John's wish.
