Obituary: Mrs. Alice J. Culver, 86, widow of George R. Culver, died at 7:30 a.m. today at her home, 1826 Camp avenue, after a brief illness. Born in England in 1851, Mrs. Culver, who celebrated her 86th birthday last November 15, came to the United States at the age of six in a sailing vessel. Surviving her are a daughter, Mrs. Harry A. Moore of Rockford, and a son, Charles Eugene Culver of Janesville. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Jean Louise Moore, Glenn C. Moore, and John A. Moore, all of Elkhart, Indiana, and C. Harold Culver of Janesville. Two daughters, Louise A. Severson and Winefred E. Culver preceded her in death. Mrs. Culver was a member of the 2nd Congregational Church. Rites will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Burpee-Wood funeral home, 420 North Main Street. The Rev. John Gordon of Second Congregational Church will officiate and burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
