Thelma Louise Allen, 79, of East Moline, passed away Friday, August 17, 2018 at her home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Lutheran Church, East Moline. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Wheelan Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, East Moline.
Thelma Louise was born on December 11, 1938 in Sullivan Co., Missouri, the daughter of Carl and Gladys (Stiles) Livingston. She married Donald Cross in 1957 and two children were born to their union. Donald passed away in 1973. Thelma married James Allen in 1983. He passed away in 2008. Thelma was a homemaker for her loving family. She worked at the Carbon Cliff school for over 20 years as a cook and 10 years at Jaydon. Thelma also worked at the Milan Laundromat and Reynolds Casey’s, where she greatly enjoyed making donuts. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, East Moline and the American Legion Auxiliary and a past member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Milan.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sherry (Mark) Orey, Silvis and Carl (Lois) Cross, Channahon, IL; step children, Patricia (Clark) Downey, Illinois City and William (Donna) Allen, Rock Island; grandchildren, Jennifer Majetic, Kevin Cross, Jeremy Orey and Laura Howlett; step grandchildren, William Evans, James Allen, Heather Miller, Mindie Evans, Ashley Allen, Meghann King, Adrienne Whisler, Jared Downey, Nathan Terrill, Natalie Hook and Nolan Hook; a plethora of great grandchildren; brothers, Clyde (Roberta), Ralph (Jeanie) and Kenneth (Debbie) Livingston and numerous loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Donald and James, and step daughter, Janalee Hook.
