She was born on October 14, 1940 in Carthage, Texas to Joe Bailey Brown and Lilly Alma Davidson Brown.
Barbara was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church of Groves and was a member of Eastern Star #956 for over 50 years. She was retired from National Guardian as a dispatch supervisor. Barbara was loved by all her family and friends, she hardly ever met a stranger. She was called by many names, Barbara, Mom, Sissy, Nana, Nanny and friend.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 17, 2018 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend Alan Van Hooser officiating.
Burial will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas
Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Christopher “Bubba” Bryan Elliott and her brother, Bobby Gene Brown.
She is survived by her daughter, Alaine Ashworth; son, Shea Ballard and wife Jan; daughter-in-law, Lettie Elliott; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three nieces and one nephew.
