Surrounded by loved ones a most beautiful lady left this life to join friends and family in Heaven on August 13, 2018 in Palm Springs, California.
Born October 15, 1920 to Mario & Winifred Bianchi in Milford, New Hampshire, Lucille attended local schools, graduating from Milford High in the Class of 1938. Following graduation, she began nurse’s training at Nashua Memorial Hospital but was forced to give up her career due to allergies.
Undaunted Lucy then joined Souhegan National Bank in Milford where she worked for over thirty-five years. Not quite ready to retire, however, Lucy continued working at the Law Offices of Colin Lizotte.
She was a member of Alter Guild of Church of Our Savior, the Rebekah’s Lodge, The Village Singers and, in California, The Eisenhower Medical Center Auxiliary where she volunteered at the hospital with her son on a weekly basis. Lucy took great pleasure in greeting hospital visitors and patients each Sunday at the front desk and she continued to do so up until her 97th birthday.
Before moving to California twelve years ago Lucy resided in Wilton, NH surrounded by fruit orchards and vegetable gardens which tied in well with her love of cooking, baking and canning. Lucy was never one to “sit down and read a book”, unless it was a cookbook and she was searching for a recipe.
Lucille was pre-deceased by husbands Robert F. Locke and John C. MacDonald. She is survived by one sister, Jacqueline Duval and Brother-in-law Francis Duval, son David H. Locke, son-in-law Keith Markovitz and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family gratefully acknowledges our friend Ernie Everett who as Lucy’s caregiver has been at her side for nearly the past three years, allowing Lucy to remain comfortably in her own home with her beloved cat “Sandy” where until recently Lucy was still cooking for friends and neighbors.
There are no visiting hours. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 25th at 11 a.m. in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, N.H. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Wilton, N.H. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Church of Our Savior, Milford N.H. or Eisenhower Medical Center, 3900 Bob Hope Drive, Rancho Mirage, California 92270.
