Blanche was born on October 27, 1921 in the Town of Lima a daughter of the late Walter and Loise (Edler) Machut. She attended schools in the Town of Lima.. On May 27, 1939 she was united in marriage to Leland Hofschild and he preceded her in death on September 11, 1991.
Blanche had been employed at Cleveland Container for 32 years retiring in 1984.
Blanche and Leland loved to dance and spent many Saturday nights at Johnsonville dancing the night away. She also enjoyed playing a good card game of Sheepshead. Blanche was an avid Bucks, Brewer and Packer fan knowing more about the Packers than most of her grandchildren.
Blanche was a member of Salem United Church of Christ.
Blanche is survived by two sons, Roger (Karen) Hofschild of Sheboygan and Bruce (Nancy) Hofschild of New Holstein; a daughter-in-law, Susan Hofschild of Blaine, MN; twelve grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Inez Luna of Long Beach, CA. She is further survived by nieces, nephews and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Stanley, her first born son, Howard, brother and sister-in-law, Jamon and Dorothy Machut, sister and brother-in-law, Luella and Harvey Kaestner and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harold and Luvilla Hofschild.
A funeral service for Blanche will be held 3 PM, Wednesday, August 22 at Wittkopp Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. James Hoppert officiating. Burial will be in the Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home, 123 South Street, Plymouth on Wednesday from 1 PM until the time of service at 3 PM.
In preference to flowers memorials may be directed to Salem United Church of Christ and the Rocky Knoll Health Care Center Life Enrichment Fund.
