Marilyn Cherney, age 72, passed away on August 16, 2018 surrounded by her family after a 8 1/2 month battle with bile duct cancer.

Marilyn was born on February 22, 1946 to William & Agnes (Svatek) De Cramer. She graduated from the new Kewaunee High School in 1964. On November 6, 1965, she married Leonard Cherney of Stangleville at Holy Rosary Church in Kewaunee. They briefly lived in Two Rivers, WI and then moved to their current neighborhood in 1968. Marilyn raised her children and later went to work in the cafeteria at Aurora Hospital in Two Rivers. She was of the original crew there. She retired from Aurora in 2011 and never forgot her friends there. She was also a life member of St Cabrini Court-Forester of Holy Rosary. She will be remembered as selfless.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Leonard, of 53 years and their children Janelle Cherney (Mishicot), Cheryl Finnel (Mishicot) and Brad Cherney and his new wife Paula (Curran). She is further survived by her brother, Bill De Cramer and his wife, Jan, of Sturgeon Bay, her grandchildren, Jacob and Molly Finnel whom she enjoyed so much, her Godchildren, Debbie Cumming (Dave) of De Pere, Mary (Kerscher) Hrdina, Timmy Cherney (Melissa) of Stangleville and Bruce Cherney of Curran, her brothers-in-law Alvin Cherney (Stangleville) and LeRoy Cherney (Curran) and her nieces and nephews; Mark (Karla) De Cramer (Germantown, WI), Mike (Cathie) De Cramer (Charlotte, NC), Steven (Kris) Cherney (Stangleville), Robert (Sue) Cherney (Mishicot), Susie Brosig (De Pere)and Duane Cherney (Curran).

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband’s parents, an infant sister and her two sisters-in-law, Joan Cherney and Joyce Cherney.

The visitation will be Saturday, August 25, 2018 beginning at 9:30am at St Mary’s Parish in Tisch Mills. Mass will be at 11:00 am with a short burial service to follow.

The family would like to thank the Aurora Cancer Center and Unity Hospice Care for all their help and care during this time.
