Mrs. Edward (Martha) Houle, 88, 742 Jefferson, Sturgeon Bay, died at Algoma Memorial hospital Sunday evening.
She was born in Sawyer June 25, 1880 to the late Nels and Ingeborg Erickson. She lived in Sturgeon Bay all her life and was a life member of the Woman's club and a member of the Ladies Fellowship of the Moravian church.
She was a 1898 graduate of Sturgeon Bay high school and attended Green Bay Business college. Prior to her marriage she was a court reporter and secretary to Atty. R. P. Cody.
She married Edward Houle at Sturgeon Bay June 1, 1908. He preceded her in death in 1954.
Surviving are five daughters: Mrs. Chandler (Vera) Busby and Mrs. Loren (Beulah) Stevens, both of Milwaukee, Mrs. Ray (Marion) Halvorsen, Two Rivers, Mrs. Charles (Adele) Redfield, Stevens Point, and Mona, at home; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, the Rev. John Erickson, and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Viestenz and Maria.
Friends may call at the Davis Mortuary until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and after 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Moravian church.
The Rev. Warren Sautebin will officiate at funeral services Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Sturgeon Bay Moravian church. Burial will be in Bayside cemetery.
