Mrs. Doris Lee Wallace Storie, 63, 225 Russell Hill Road, Elizabethton, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, April 30, 2007. Mrs. Storie was born to the late Homer James and Ella Mae Miller Wallace on July 28, 1943.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Storie was preceded in death by her husband, Bill R. Storie, Sr.; a brother James Perry Wallace; a sister, Rachel Wallace and a brother-in-law, Ronald Storie of Roan Mountain.

Mrs. Storie was an active member of East Side Baptist Church where she served on several committees including as past officer of the finance committee and she was the director of the nursery. She had worked at Concord Custom Cleaners and as a seamstress from her home and more recently at Fingerhut. Mrs. Storie was a devoted mother, grandmother and an inspirational sister.

Mrs. Storie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bill R. and Melanie Greer Storie, Jr., Elizabethton, two grandchildren, Josh Storie and Emilee Storie of Elizabethton; a special friend, Norman Vines; seven sisters and four brothers-in-law; Reba Watson, Matney, NC; Reda and Gilbert Ward, Sugar Grove, NC; Shirley Rash, Trade, TN; Helen and David Shearer, Warminster, PA; Dare Ward, Lexington, NC; Faye and Denver Eggers, Banner Elk, NC; Audrey and Neil Hartley, Boone, NC; sisters-in-law, Francis Potter, Dessie Harrison, Kate Harrison and husband Glenn, all of Buck Mountain, TN; Norma Potter and husband Albert, Stafford, VA; brothers-in-law Dennis Storie and wife Reta, Jim Storie, all of Roan Mountain, TN; Leslie Storie and wife Kathy, Jonesborough, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The graveside service and interment will be conducted on Thursday, May 3, 2007 at 1:00 PM in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Jerry Ward, Steve Ward, Mike Hightower, Joe Brown, Robert Harrison and Chuck Greer.
