John Warren Karsten, III, 60, of Hot Springs, Ark., died Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at his residence. Born October 18, 1946 at Kennett, son of the late John & Helen Moyers Karsten, Jr., he was of the Baptist faith, and was associated with Meadowview Missionary Baptist Church. He was also a member of Louisiana Cotton Ginners Assoc.

Survivors include his wife, Sherry Holloway Karsten, of Hot Springs; four daughters, Robin Karsten and husband, Paul Uher, Laura & Dennis Overton, all of Hot Springs, Lisa & Jason Gazaway, of Paragould, Ark.; and Elizabeth Karsten, of Kennett; two step sons, Joshua Peppers of Pineville, La; and Nathan & Sarah Peppers of Urania, La.; one sister and brother-in-law, Kay K. & Jim Jones, of Elizabethton, Tenn. and 12 grandchildren.

Pallbearers are James Miller, Richard Edgington, Richard Whitehorn, Dennis Moore, John Henry Stephens and Verlin Phelps. Honorary Pallbearers are Dick Huddleston, Joe Hemphill, Joe Branch, John Van Mol, and Ted Gargas.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., today, Friday, May 4, at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel in Hot Springs with Bro. Fred Etheridge officiating. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery at Hot Springs. Guest register is at http://www.caruth-hale.com.
