Lima News, 31 Dec. 1945: Roy C. Acton, 67, died at 7:30 a.m., in his home at 506 Holmes-av, following an illness of two years. Born in Michigan, Acton was in the photograph business and prominent in check tournaments and was a former checker champion of Lima. He had been personnel director of the H. G. Shook Co. foundry, until September, when he opened a photography studio on the forth floor of the Dominion bldg.
He is survived by his widow, Helen; two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Stout, Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Emma Jackson, Detroit, Mich.' a son Robert, Los Angles; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Robert Goes, Fostoria; and two step-grandchildren.
The body will remain at the Siferd funeral home where services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, with Rev. E. J. Penherwood of South Side Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
