Carl Dewalt Houck was born in Alsace France or Germany, Alsace borders Germany. He migrated to the United States arriving on July 16 1932 at New York aboard the Ship Hogarth, arriving from LaHarve France. His name listed as Charles, and shown as from Switzerland as were all the passengers on this ship.Carl apparently went to Ohio and married Malinda Dilsaver, they settled in Harrison County Missouri and are on the 1850 census there. Carl and Malinda had 3 sons and 2 daughters.
