Boy Killed by Train
While playing on a box car in the yards of C.T.H & S. Road in Seymour Tuesday morning, Stephen Abbott, aged about six years, son of Wm Abbot, was run over by a freight train and died from his injuries a few minutes after.
The railroad track passes close to the rear of the yard of the boy’s home, and the little fellow was playing on the switch and was climbing on a box car when an engine came on the switch and pumped into the car on the opposite end from which the boy was climbing up. The force of the jar caused him to fall on the track and the box car ran over him. One leg was badly crushed, and he was badly bruised otherwise. He only lived about twenty minutes after the accident.
