Nancy R. Neumeyer, age 84, a St. Nazianz resident, died Monday evening, August 27, 2018 at Harbor View Assisted Living, Manitowoc.
Nancy was born on February 25, 1934 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Frank J. & Irene (Gallagher) Augustine. She was a graduate of St. Isadore’s, Osman, Valders High School, Manitowoc County Normal and Silver Lake College. On July 31, 1954 she married Richard Neumeyer at St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz. Nancy was employed as a teacher in Manitowoc County and New Holstein Public Elementary Schools, retiring in 2002. She was an avid reader, enjoyed bowling and was active in various teacher’s organizations. Nancy also enjoyed traveling, dancing and camping with family and friends. Most of all, Nancy enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends.
Survivors include her husband: Richard Neumeyer, St. Nazianz; her children: Ellen (Scott) Preston, Valders, Jeff (Vicky) Neumeyer, New Orleans, Beth (Lashonn) Ford, Las Vegas, Jacque (Kim) Sternard, Plymouth; grandchildren: Steven & Kate Preston, Mary Rose & Jill Neumeyer, Joseph Ford, Carter Neumeyer; step grandchildren: Jamez & Lukas Sternard; one sister and brother-in-law: Rita (George) Pautz, New Holstein; four brothers and sisters-in-law: Gerald (Mary) Augustine, St. Nazianz, Charles (Sandy) Augustine, St. Nazianz, Eugene (Janet) Augustine, Manitowoc, Michael (Karen) Augustine, Manitowoc; four sisters-in-law: Adella Reinboldt, Virginia Berg, Jeanette Klauck, Shirley (LeRoy) Arndt; two brothers-in-law: Gilbert (Luann) Neumeyer, James (Dorothy) Neumeyer; and her good friends: Rosie Wilmas, Lola Otto, Terri Wilk, Jake Ploederl and Betty Platten. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Frank and Irene Augustine; a daughter: Ann Neumeyer; two sisters: Ann Pollock, Mary Jane Augustine; three brothers: Thomas, Bill & Daniel Augustine; her mother-in-law and father-in-law: Lydia & Herbert Neumeyer; six brothers-in-law: Jack Gleichner, David Pollock, Richard (Bernice) Klaser, John Klauck, Francis Reinboldt, and Donald Berg.
Cremation has occurred at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, and a Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, August 30, 2018 at St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz. Officiating at the service will be Deacon Paul Gleichner.. Nancy will be laid to rest at St. Gregory Catholic Church Cemetery, St. Nazianz, at a later date.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Gregory Catholic Church, St. Nazianz, from 3:00 p.m. Thursday, August 30, 2018 until 5:45 p.m.
