Mrs Geneva Gordy Smoot, 80, died Monday in the George Washington University Hospital in Washington following a prolonged illness. She was the daughter of the late James M and Rebecca Wheatley Gordy of Dorchester County and the widow of Homer Smoot of Sharptown.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs Russell Fegley, of Reading, Pa, and Miss Jeanette Smoot of Washington; a son, Alexander Smoot, of Sharptown; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Marvel Funeral Home in Sharptown, MD. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in St Paul's Episcopal Church in Laurel, with the Rev Harry Mayfield, rector, officiating. Interment will be in
Galestown Cemetery.
