George E. McNitt, aged 92, of Wyoming, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2002.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther; his daughter, Joyce Ludwick; his sister, Dorothy Ackerman; and his brother, Walter McNitt.
He will be sadly missed by his children, Lynn (Janet) McNitt, Robert (Judy) McNitt, Richard McNitt, and James (Laurie) McNitt; his 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; his son-in-law, James Ludwick; his sister, Inez Weller; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
George was the owner and operator of McNitt produce. He was very active in community affairs, serving as president of the Wyoming Park Rotary Club, the president of the Wyoming Park School Board, and a charter member of Sunnybrook Country Club. George loved both golfing and boating.
A Private Memorial Service will be held at another time. Interment will be at the Grandville Cemetery. The family will meet with relatives and friends on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home, Grandville (east building), 4235 Prairie St. SW. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
