Graveside services for Robbie Thames Ahlfinger, 79, of Tyler will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at Thornton Cemetery with Ron Shultz officiating under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ahlfinger passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018 at a Tyler hospital. She was born Dec. 20, 1938 in Seale, TX to Robert and Elizabeth Thames.

Robbie was a member of Broadway Church of Christ and previously a member of Glenwood Church of Christ, both of Tyler. She was a 1957 graduate of Thornton High School in Thornton, TX. She received an associate's degree from Lee College, Baytown, TX. Also, from the University of Houston, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education. She completed graduate courses from A & M University in vocational education. She was employed by Channelview ISD from 1972-1981. After moving to Groesbeck, TX she continued her teaching career with the Groesbeck ISD and at the Mexia State School.

Robbie was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Elizabeth Thames; brothers, Hurshel Thames, Rayford "Bud" Winn, Joe Ed Winn and Franklin Winn; sisters, Iona "Sally" Cooney, Leah Dewvall, Maggie McLeroy and Irene Powell. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, John T. Ahlfinger; daughters, Andrea Ripley and fiance Jim Bars and Angela Young and husband Randy. Her legacy includes grandchildren, Ryan Ripley (Kassie), Brandon Young (Alley), Rachel Green (Zack) and Trenton Timmons (Jessica); and great-grandchildren, Zane Camdon Ripley, Kyesen Alan Ripley, Ryett Lee Ripley, Judge Ralan Ripley, Brock Kyler Young, Bryce Lee Young and Evan Nelson Young.

Serving as pallbearers will be John K. Kilpatrick, Billy Jack Rascoe, Ryan Ripley, Brandon Young, Trenton Timmons, Rachel and Zack Green.
