Virden, Aug. 1 - Mrs. Rebecca Campbell, age 79 years, 1 month and 8 days, one of the pioneer residents of Virden, died at 3:25 o'clock Sunday morning are her home in Virden.
She was born in Lucisville [sp?], O., and came to Jersey county with her parents at the age of six weeks.
She was twice married. The first time to Thomas J. Utt of Jerseyville, Dec. 5, 1850. Eight children were born to this union. Those surviving are Flora D. Utt, Charles A., Albert, George H., and T. Virgil.
Her second marriage was to Charles Morgan Campbell, Feb. 15, 1877. He died May 8, 1905 [sic].
Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church.
Interment in Virden cemetery.
