A native of Frostproof, he moved to Lake Wales 47 years ago. He retired from Flamingo Tile 13 years ago. He was a World War II veteran; member of VFW Post 2420; Disabled Veterans Ridge Chapter; Polk County Chapter of the Florida Cattleman's Association; and was a Baptist.
He is survived by his Wife, Fannie Tucker Rhoden, Lake Wales; daughter, Lue Geiger, Winter Haven, Sue Richardson, Rosie Lewis, and Ruby Britt, all of Lake Wales, and Mary Collins, Dundee, sons, George Rhoden, Kenneth E. Rhoden, and Aubie O. Rhoden, all of Lake Wales, and James A. Rhoden, Jr., Winter Haven; father Eugene D. Rhoden, Lake Wales; stepmother, Lilley Rhoden, Lake Wales; brother, Aubie O. Rhoden, Geneva, Ala., and Edwin P. Rhoden, California; sister, Imogene Worth, Lake Wales; 29 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
