Charles Lester Copiskey, 75, of Sturgeon Bay died suddenly on March 19, 2007 at Door County Memorial Hospital.He was born May 28, 1931 in northern Door County to Lester and Mary (Nelson) Copiskey.Charles served in the U. S. Army for 22 years and retired as a Master Sergeant E-8 on July 1, 1970.During his military career he was stationed in Germany, Korea, and Viet Nam.After the service, Charles worked at the Dorchester Health and Rehab Center for 23 years.Charles was a life member of the VFW, past president of the Wolf River Area WI Square Dance Association, and past member of numerous other square dancing clubs.He was also a long time member of St. Peters Lutheran Church.Charles enjoyed camping, traveling, sight seeing, listening to country and blue grass music, and going out to eat.On August 25, 1973 he married Eileen Cumber. Survivors include his wife Eileen; two daughters, Lisa (Mark) Brauer, and Kathy Copiskey, a son Charles, Jr., all of Sturgeon Bay; three step-daughters, Elaine (Gene) Dennis, Bonnie Vogel, all of Sturgeon Bay, and Erica (Ken) Odom, IL;a step-son, Richard (Lori) Dragosh, AZ; 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; three sisters,Lucille (Ron) Kubichka, Joan Wilhelm, and Laverne Mathey, all of Manitowoc; step- father, Richard Lau, Mountain;a sister-in-law, Elaine Cumber, Sturgeon Bay and a brother-in-law, Clarence (Kay) Cumber, Sturgeon Bay; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers-in-law, Bob Wilhelm and Lou Mathey.Funeral Services with military honors will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2007 at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay with the Rev. Larry Zessin officiating.Burial will be at Blossomburg Cemetery.Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Forbes Funeral Home and then after 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the church until time of services.A prayer service will be conducted at 7:45 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
