Anna was born on January 13, 1974 in Canton. She was the daughter of Ronald and Ruth (Franklin) Smith. She married Michael Pillars in Galesburg on December 5, 1995 at the Calvary Baptist Church, Galesburg. They later divorced. She is survived by her daughters, Amber Smith of Galesburg and Ashley (Alan) Hale; her mother, Ruth (Jose) Salazar of Galesburg; a brother, Ronald Smith, Jr. of Galesburg; four grandchildren, Hunter Courson, Allie Smith; a special friend, Sean Lockwood; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Anna was preceded in death by her father and grandparents, Kenneth (Annabelle) Smith and Harold (Frances) Franklin.
Anna was a homemaker. She loved to read and do beading. She was interested in art and music. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her grandchildren were the light of her life.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 1 PM at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1501 Webster St., Galesburg. Pastor Harold Berrian will officiate. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Memorials may be made in Anna’s memory to the family for an education fund for her grandchildren.
