WIFE OF ENRIGHT, KENNETH M
SMSGT US AIR FORCE

Janet "Jan" Louise (Meisel) Enright was born in Salina, Kansas on October 10, 1943.

At age 4 in Colorado Springs, Jan sang and danced professionally, and modeled for movie commercials with her older sister at Alexander Films. Known as the "Little Rocky Mountain Sweetheart", she was a regular with Red Foley on radio, and rode with Tex Ritter in the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo Parade. Continuing her vivacious activities after moving to Lakin, Kansas she was a cheerleader, percussionist in band, did dramatic readings, and taught dancing. Graduating in 1961 she attended Garden City JuCo, University of Colorado, and Universite' de Caen, in Normandy, France.

The May 17, 1965 marriage to Kenneth M. Enright was the beginning of their 53-year adventure, comprised of many people and places while raising their three children, Kristan Shane, Erika Ann, and Kelly D'Arcy. Settling in Manitou Springs after his 20 year Air Force/Army career, Jan developed the "Water Awareness" program, teaching newborn infants and parents Water Nurturing, fundamentals for older kids, advanced swimming, and co-managed the city pool. Swimming was her life-long passion.

Her 20-year association with Colorado College began as Chapel Assistant, then Secretary/Coordinator with the CC Alumni Association, retiring as Managing Technology Specialist for Tutt Library. Her rapport with numerous Colorado College factions, particular students, exemplifies her motherly instincts. Jan & Ken served as host-family for numerous students, Air Force cadets, and hockey players while enjoying their growing family of grandchildren: Erin, Kegan, Rhys, Bayley, Amik, Noah, Aislin, Ronan, Liam, Fionnula, Jacob, Zachariah, and great-granddaughter, Maebh.

Jan died peacefully at their home in Arizona on August 29, 2018.
