Leverett Saltonstall Tuckerman, prominent among Boston lawyers, who resided at 9 Hereford st, died today, in his 69th year. He was born in Washington, D C, on April 19, 1848, the son of John Francis and Lucy Sanders (Saltonstall) Tuckerman. He was a graduate of Harvard with the class of 1868, receiving his AB degree; and that of LLB was given him by Harvard in 1871.
He soon began the practice of his chosen profession, both in Boston and in Salem. Mr Tuckerman had served as trustee of the Boston episcopal Charitable Society, the Sailors Snug Harbor, of which he had been secretary as well as trustee, and as one of the trustees of Donations of the Protestant Episcopal Church of Massachusetts. He had been treasurer of the Association for the Work of Mercy in the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts and he was a trustee of the Provident Institution for Savings.
Mr Tuckerman was a member of the Bar Association of the city of Boston, the American Forestry Association and the American Civic Association, and belonged to the Somerset Club, the Harvard Club, Boston, and that in New York, Eastern Yacht Club at Marblehead Neck and the Appalachian Mountain Club. Mr Tuckerman was married on Sept 10, 1896, to Grace Richardson of Lynn, who survives him.
