Helen M. Budnik, age 95, a Manitowoc resident, entered eternal rest on Friday, November 17, 2017 at St. Mary's Nursing Home at Felician Village.
Helen was born on August 14, 1922 in Brillion, WI, daughter of the late George and Marie (Binsfeld) Geiger. She was a graduate of Brillion High School and Holy Family School of Nursing, Manitowoc. On July 27, 1946 she married Alvin Budnik at St. Mary's Church, Brillion. They shared 69 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on November 1, 2015.
Helen had been employed as a registered nurse at Park Lawn Nursing Home for 22 years, retiring in 1983. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish. Helen especially enjoyed time spent with family, doing crossword puzzles, baking and cooking, and doing needlework projects. She always gave selflessly of herself to those in need of her assistance.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law: Sara and Michael Gates, Manitowoc; two sons and daughters-in-law: Steven and Kay Budnik, Winchester, WI, Michael and Nancy Budnik, Glendale, AZ; three grandchildren: Kelly (Tim) Miller, Brian (Tiffany) Gates, Melissa Budnik; and two great grandchildren: Mason and Allison Gates. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
In addition to her husband, Helen was also preceded in death by one brother: Herbert Geiger; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Arthur (Colette) Budnik and Celestine (Anthony) Rugowski.
Private family funeral services will be held with entombment of her cremated remains at Calvary Chapel Mausoleum.
