William Parker was born about 1830 to Thomas P. Parker and Anna Forinash in Harrison County, (W)V.

William married Eliza Ann Johnson in 1847, Lewis County, (W)V. They had four children: David, William H, Eliza & Laverna Jane. Eliza died of consumption (likely from TB) in April 1857.

William married Sarah (Sally) Ann Bennett in October 1857. They had four children: Polly, George, James H, & Robert Lee.

William entered military service as a Confederate in the Civil War in 1861.
