The family moved to Reno in 1966 so Norvie could act as lead mechanic for a Cessna dealer.
Love of the outdoors inspired Norvie to take classes in lapidary and silver fabrication at the Reno Gem and Mineral Society. From those beginnings in 1984, he came quite skilled, winning several regional and national trophies for his jewelry.
He also served on an advisory council for and worked with a volunteer group supporting the Blackrock/High Rock Wilderness.
He died 26 June 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Abram S. and Linda Enns. He was survived by his wife, two sons, and two grandchildren in Reno, as well as two sisters, one in Newton, Kansas, and one in Wichita, Kansas.
