Helen was born March 19, 1935 in Two Rivers, daughter of the late Everett and Julia (LeClair) Lau. She was a graduate of Washington High School. On August 11, 1956 she married John Fencl at St. Luke's Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on March 13, 2008.
Helen was a cook at the Two Rivers Hospital before her retirement. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Peter the Fisherman, Catholic Society of Foresters and a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. Helen volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul, Roger Street Fishing Village and funeral meals at church. She enjoyed trips, especially gambling, and playing cards & having fun with the Secret Pal Club.
Survivors include her children: Dave & Kathy Fencl, Neenah; Gary & Kay Fencl, Two Rivers; Pat & Diane Fencl, Mishicot; Mark & Peggy Fencl, Palm Beach, FL; Mary & Tom Sisel, Two Rivers; 15 grandchildren: Jon & Daniel Fencl, Kari Hemba, Kim Fencl, Karen (Dave) Murack, Melissa (Trevor) Crandall, Julie Fencl (fiancé Scott), Zac & Austin Fencl, Matthew & Cassie Fencl (fiancé Alec), Samantha (Travis) Stevens, Stephanie Sisel, Sara (Jason) Rhein and Steven Sisel; 14 great grandchildren: Dax, Lexi, Kaylea, Cayden, Alivia, Liam, Patrick, Sophia, Elise, Sydney, Hailee, Eleanor, Hayden & Andi; three brothers and two sisters-in-law: Everett & Lois Lau, Milwaukee; Richard Lau, Mountain; John & Peggy Lau, York, PA; brother-in-law: Gene Fencl, Green Bay; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Helen was preceded in death by father-in-law and mother-in-law: Dan & Esther Fencl; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Leroy Fencl, Donna Fencl and Mary Lau.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2018 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Tom Reynebeau with burial to take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers at a later date.
