Fred Tipton, 83, of 209 Tipton Hill Road, Leicester, died Tuesday, October 23, 2001.
Mr. Tipton was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Thomas Alfred and Augusta Garland Tipton. He was a retired fork lift operator with Williams-Brownell Lumber Company and was a member of Mountain View Freewill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Lou Ellen Gibson Tipton and a sister, Myrtle Alexander.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Friday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Bishop officiating. Burial will be at Mountain View Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
