She was born May 24, 1941 in Murray County, Georgia near Holly Creek, daughter of the late Mr. Seth Lewis Terry and Mrs. Eunice Stroud Terry. She was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. Harold Hill Terry and Mrs. Jo Terry.
She graduated from Murray County High School class in 1959 as valedictorian and from the University of Georgia in 1963 with a B.S. in Dietetics. Her family was the center of her life.
She worked as a registered, licensed dietician for many years until she retired and moved to Florida in 2008. She is a member of the Methodist Church, taught Sunday school for a time, and in her youth played the organ and was very active in the First Methodist Church of Chatsworth. She was a very devoted Georgia Bulldog fan all her life.
She is survived by her sister, Mrs. Virginia Terry Severinghaus of Nashville, Tennessee and her daughters and sons-in-law, Mr. Jonathan Scott Shatz and Mrs. Jennifer Jane Shatz of Boca Raton, Florida and Mr. Steven James Flynn and Mrs. Amelia Terry Phillips Flynn of Alpharetta, Georgia. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Morgan Anne Phillips, Alexandra Marie Flynn, Kelsey Phillips Flynn, Gabriella Elyssa Shatz and Grace Devon Shatz. She is also survived by a niece, Jody Severinghaus Christmas, a nephew, Lieutenant General James L. Terry, and many loving cousins and cherished friends.
