Service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Morgan Funeral Chapel for James Nolen Mayo, 68, Walnut Grove, who died Tuesday, June 12, 2007. The Revs. Greg Gibbs and Eric Mayo will officiate. Burial in Samuels Chapel Cemetery. Morgan Funeral Chapel and Crematory directing.

Mr. James Nolen Mayo was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather. He served his country and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army. He was a member of the boilermakers union and was employed at Lemco until the business closed. Mr. Mayo loved the outdoors and his garden. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fate and Era Mayo; mother-in-law, Clarsie Boston; and brothers, Charles Mayo and Glenn Mayo.

He leaves behind his wife of 41 years, Aris Boston Mayo; six children, Phillip Mayo and family, Ronda (Barry) Fletcher, Hokes Bluff, Sharon Haynes, Blountsville, Samuel Mayo, Walnut Grove, Kenneth (Patricia) Mayo, Attalla, and James Michael (Eileen) Mayo, Virginia Beach, Va.; three brothers, Harold (Gail) Mayo, Bill (Jo) Mayo and Edward Mayo; sisters-in-law, Dove Mayo and Kathy Burns; nine grandchildren; one step-grandchild; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Scott Duncan, Barry Fletcher, Chad Haynes, Samuel Mayo, Kenneth Mayo, Micheal Mayo, David Demedicis and Brian Jeffers.

Honorary pallbearers will be Blayne Mayo, Tyler Duncan, Nolan Fletcher, Kristopher Farmer and the Walnut Grove Fire Department.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Morgan Funeral Chapel.
