He received his education in Butte schools and graduated from Boys Central High School in 1968. He attended Eastern Montana College where he received his bachelor’s in education.

Denny worked as a substitute teacher and part-time bartender, which later lead him to his career in bar management at the Elks Lodge, Jox’s Lounge in the Copper King Inn, the Gold Rush, CCCs, and the Knights of Columbus. Denny was proud to be a full-time member of the Knight of Columbus. He also held membership in the Elk’s and KCAC (Knights of Columbus Athletic Club).

Denny enjoyed good friends, hunting, fishing, floating, pumping iron and a good game of cribbage. He also enjoyed football and his team was the San Francisco 49ers and enjoyed playing fantasy football.
