Gary Lynn Ford, 46, of Deputy, died Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at his residence.
He was born Dec. 1, 1960, in Madison, the son of Arnold "Pete" and Pauline Taulman Ford. He attended Bethany Baptist Church earlier in his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was employed with Stacey's Excavating for 10 years and had worked for Lamb's Saw Mill since he was a young boy. He had worked for the past two years for the Presidential Estates in Madison as a groundskeeper and maintenance man. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, cutting wood, and working in his vegetable garden. He was an avid outdoorsman.
He is survived by his wife, Erlena M. Kinnard Ford, whom he married on July 23, 1984, in Smithville, Tenn.; one son, Jonathon S. Ford of Deputy; one daughter, Patience L. Ford of Deputy; his father and stepmother, Pete and Evalee Ford of Deputy; his mother, Pauline Taulman Ford of Lakeland, Fla.; one sister, Peggy Case of Deputy; two brothers, Kenny Ford of Deputy and Roger Ford of Dupont; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John C. and Bertha Ford; and his maternal grandparents, John and Lydia Taulman.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery in Deputy. Full military rites will be conducted graveside by the Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until the service Saturday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Patience Ford College Fund or the Jefferson County Chapter of the American Cancer Society. Contribution cards are available at the funeral home.
