Bessie Corso Stabler went to be with her Lord very peacefully on Sept 16, 2018, just three days after her 98th birthday. She was born in Bryan, Texas to Carlo Corso and Rose Saladino Corso. She is predeceased in death by her husband, Frank Stabler, son, Carlo Stabler and her 4 siblings. She is survived by her daughter Frances Ann and husband Paul Bonno and son John Stabler and wife Jacklyn; her grandchildren John Stabler Jr, Paul Bonno Jr, Steven Bonno, Michael Stabler, Kara Stabler Barbee, Matthew Stabler; and great grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. The focus of Bessie's life was her family. Whenever trouble or sickness came, her prayers and "lit" candles at church always seemed to work. Her devotion to the Blessed Mother and her faith in God was always was very strong. These were two of her most admired qualities. She was a member of the Charity Guild of St. Joseph for many years. As she advanced in age she was often asked by others the secret of her longevity. Her answer was always the same: A McDonald's hamburger and a senior coffee. Visitation will be on Friday, Sept 21, at Forest Park Lawndale Grand Chapel, 6900 Lawndale St. from 5-7pm with a rosary at 6 pm. The funeral service will be on Saturday, Sept 22, at 10:30 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 7250 Harrisburg Blvd where Rev. Henry Walker will officiate. The graveside service will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery; 6900 Lawndale St. Pallbearers are John Stabler Jr, Steven Bonno, Matthew Stabler, Carlo Corso, Joseph Corso and A.J. Corso. Honorary Pallbearers are Paul Bonno Jr and Michael Stabler. In Lieu of flowers, you may donate to the charity of your choice in the name of Bessie Stabler.
