GARY | The Lake County coroner's office is investigating the death of a local man during an early Saturday morning traffic accident.
He is identified as 26-year-old Charles J. Baldauf. The coroner's office said his current address wasn't immediately known Saturday.
Gary police couldn't be reached Saturday for comment.
Coroner's investigators said witnesses indicated Baldauf's car was traveling at a high rate of speed near 25th and Clark in Gary's Black Oak neighborhood at 3 a.m. Saturday when it careened into a concrete barrier.
Witnesses said Baldauf was partially ejected from the car, which rolled and came to rest on its roof. The coroner's office said Baldauf suffered blunt force trauma and multiple injuries to his head and body.
Funeral arrangements were still being planned at Christopher Funeral Home in Lake Station.

he was proud father of 2 girls and one boy. he was proudly married to his wife of 7 almost 8 years. They were childhood sweethearts. his current address at time of death was 1164 s. Virginia st Hobart indiana. All funeral arrangements were made from his wife and kids.
