William was born in Hamden on February 14, 1933 to the late Merton and Helen Brown. Prior to retirement, he had worked for Sikorsky Aircraft. He enjoyed stamp collecting, camping and was known to be a handyman. In his twenties, he enjoyed driving a modified stock car at Savin Rock's West Haven Speedway.
In addition to his wife, he will be cherished in the memories of his daughter Martha Webster of Maine; his sons: William Webster Brown II of New York, Jeffrey Brown and his wife Cindy of Seymour, Derek Brown and his wife Kathy of Prospect; his sister Susan McMillian of Wallingford; his brother Merton Brown of Utah; his grandchildren: Andrew and his wife Hannah & their children Grace, Jackson, and Carter of Maine; Rachel and her Husband Aaron & their son Jensen of Maine; Michael of Connecticut; Eric of Connecticut; Robert and his wife Kelly of Connecticut.
A graveside service will be held at the Old Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterbury on Monday, September 24, 2018. Anyone who would like to join the family is welcome at 10:00 AM.
A memorial service will be held at Masonicare with the time and date to be determined.
