Manitowoc - Diane Forsyth-Petersen, age 70, a resident of Manitowoc, and formerly of Mishicot, entered eternal life on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Diane was born on June 18, 1947 in Manitowoc to Florence (Herman) Popelar and the late Clarence Popelar. She graduated from Mishicot High School with the class of 1965. On December 14, 1973, Diane married James Forsyth III. He preceded her in death on March 8, 2003. On November 17, 2012, Diane married Michael Petersen in Naples, FL. She had worked as a health insurance coordinator at Ed Morse Automotive Group in Fort Lauderdale, FL for 30 years. Diane enjoyed swimming, dancing, and volunteering at a facility for retired circus animals in Florida.

Survivors include Diane's husband, Michael; mother, Florence Popelar, Manitowoc; brother, John (Darlene) Popelar, Manitowoc; two sisters, Judy (Gene) Rogne, Minocqua, and Janet (Rick) Reichardt, Wartrace, TN; stepdaughter, Lisa Stricklin, Manitowoc; stepson, Timothy Petersen, Manitowoc; sister-in-law, Kay (Dr. John) Goswitz, Manitowoc; three brothers-in-law, Ken (Mary) Petersen, Manitowoc; Keith (Brenda) Petersen, Manitowoc; and Chris (Patrice) Petersen, Colorado Springs, CO; close friend, Leah Gardner, Florida; also other relatives and friends. Diane was preceded in death by her first husband, James Forsyth III; father, Clarence; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Vinton and Marjorie Petersen; stepson, Jeffery Petersen; and her beloved dog.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 5, 2018 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand - 1416 Grand Avenue, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Mark Mleziva. Cremation will take place at a later date at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel with burial of Diane's cremated remains to be at Calvary Cemetery.
