(1927 - 2017)

Ethel M. Gauger, age 89, a resident at the Garfield Garden Apartments in Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Thursday morning, July 6, 2017 at her residence.

Ethel was born on August 1, 1927 in Cooperstown. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Cora Koene Metz. Ethel was a cook for 20½ years at the Left End Restaurant, 5½ years at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, and for 1½ years at Days Inn from where she retired in 1998. Ethel had been a long time member at the former Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manitowoc and currently a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Wilfred and Carol Gauger, Manitowoc; two great grandchildren: Alex and Anthony Gauger; along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph and Cora Metz; granddaughter: Heather Gauger; brother: Celouphus Metz; and sister: Dolores Becker.

Private memorial services were held on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Calvary Mausoleum in Manitowoc. Rev. Richard Klingeisen officiated with Ethel's cremated remains laid to rest at the mausoleum following the services. Cremation took place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel.
