Visitation for Gerald J. "Toby" Sapp, 77, of Papineau, formerly of Watseka, were held at the Segar-Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka. the Rev. Tom McCann officiated.

Military graveside rites by the Watseka American Legion and VFW were held in the GAR Cemetery, Watseka.

Gerald died Thursday Sept. 23, 1999 at Danville VA Hospital.

He was born Feb. 4, 1922 in Watseka, the son of Jessie and Tillie Florence Varvel Sapp.

His first wife, the former Virgie Louise Pence, whom he married May 24, 1959, died Nov. 15, 1987 in Watseka.

Surviving are his wife, the former Dorothy June Sears, whom he married June 22, 1991 in Papineau; one sister Betty Ralston of rolling Stone Minn.

Deceased are three brothers, and three sisters.

A veteran of WWII, he served in the Army and was a member of the American Legion Post in Watseka and also was a menber of The First church of the Nazarene in Watseka.
