Daughter of Franke Hermann "Frank" Finckel and Charlotte H. Brady Finckel, and younger sister of Alice Finckel Hellen. Morton was her Brady grandmother's maiden name.

For many years she worked in Washington for the Daughters of the American Revolution, as had her older sister at one time, before her marriage and move to Texas.

She never married and moved from Washington DC in her later years to live near her sister in Hebbronville, Texas. Upon her death, Alice had her interred in Greenhill Cemetery, created on land donated to the city by her and her husband in about 1937.
