Mr. Moore was a successful farmer and orchardist his entire life, enjoying both endeavors very much. He had a strong work ethic and began and ended each day with a positive outlook on life. Mr. Moore was a good natured, honest, pleasant individual with a gentle and kind spirit. He had a genuine smile and a welcoming attitude toward everyone.
Mr. Moore was a member of the Flint Hill Baptist Church. His great grandfather, James Moore, was a founding father of the curch built in 1854. He was a charter member of the Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Company. Mr. Moore was a member of Branch Banking & Trust's Board of Directors and its predecessor banks for 50 years.
Mr. Moore's greatly missed wife, Annie Griffith Moore, predeceased him on May 20, 1994. Their 53 year marriage was one of mutual admiration and devotion. He was also predeceased by his older brothers, John R. Moore III, William (Buddy) Moore, Charles James Moore, and his younger sister, Margaret (Nancy) Moore Dearing. He is survived by his sister, Mary Moore Blaisdell.
Left to cherish his memory, along with their mother's memory are a daughter, Dorothy Moore and a son, Louis P. Moore, Jr. and wife Darlene. He is also survived by three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, numerous nephews, nieces, extended family, and friends.
